LINCOLN'S GOLDEN GIRL
SF Section Lincoln High School's Pamela Amaechi (at right with her coach Kevin Doherty) saved the best for last at the CIF State Track and Field meet June 3rd. After earning the silver medal in the discus with a personal best 177-0, she headed to the shot put ring for the final event of her storied high school career. Standing second after five rounds, Amaechi, the number one seed, stepped up for the final throw of the night. Knowing this was the culmination of her four year journey, she took a deep breath and calmly unleashed a winning toss of 47-5.25. After earning gold in the discus as a junior, she is now a two time State Champ! Congratulations to Pam on this great accomplishment, and all the best as she heads off to continue her education and athletic endeavors at Princeton this fall.
