Jan Holmquist (Burlington, Mass.) has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after winning the 65-69 year old age group at the USA Masters 5 km Championships in 21:19 at the Syracuse Festival of Races. Click here to read the full release.
2012 Jesse Owens Athlete of the Year Fan Vote
For the third year in a row, track and field fans have the opportunity to help select the annual Jesse Owens Awards winners. The honors going to the sport’s top athletes of the year is selected by a vote of the media; again this year, an online fan balloting will account for 10 percent of the votes. The 2012 nominees are:
