The highlight of the meet for the Texas men came in the shot put as Ryan Crouser proved to be the best shot putter in Big 12 history.
Crouser broke his own school record on his fourth throw of the competition at 21.29 meters to move up to No. 9 in collegiate history, but he wasn't done there.
On his final throw of the meet, Crouser tied the collegiate record with a toss of 21.73 meters (71-3.50). That mark ties him with Ryan Whiting of Arizona State who set the record back in 2008. With the win Crouser also becomes the first male student-athlete to win the Big 12 Conference Championship in an event both indoors and outdoors eight times since Missouri's Derrick Peterson swept the 800 meters from 1997-2000.
