Men

James Davis (Will C. Wood HS, Vacaville 1994; Colorado 1999) (unat) was fourth in heat 2 of the 400 meters in 49.03.

Duane Solomon (Cabrillo HS, Lompoc 2003; USC 2008; Saucony) won the 800 meters in 1:48.58 (25.83, 28.36 [54.29/54.29], 28.60 [1:22.89], 25.69)(54.29/). He said on television that he was not aware of the qualifying time for the World Championships, which is 1:48.00. You would think that our national champion would at least know what the qualifying time was.

Garrett Heath (Winona HS, MN 2004; Stanford 2009; Saucony) was fourth in the 1,500 meters in 3:49.59 (28.51, 54.92). John Sullivan (Trabuco Hills HS 2007; Stanford 2011; New Balance Silicon Valley) was eighth in 3:55.00. Russell Brown (Hanover HS, NH 2003; Stanford 2008; Oregon TC Elite/Nike) was tenth in 3:56.62.

Benjamin Bruce (Mt. Carmel HS, San Diego 2000; San Diego Mesa CC 2002; Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 2005; adidas/McMillan Elite) was fifth in the 3000 meters in 8:11.82.

Kevin Craddock (James Logan HS, Union City 2005; UCLA 2009; unattached) placed second in the 60 meter hurdles in 7.46 PR.

Ronald Brookins (Helix HS, La Mesa 2007; Sacramento State 2011) (unat) was sixth in the 60 hurdles heat 2 in 8.00.

Jesse Williams (Broughton HS, Raleigh, NC 2002; North Carolina State 2003; Southern California 2006; Oregon TC Elite) won the high jump at 7-6. He is 6-0/155. Jamie Nieto (Valley HS, Sacramento 1994; Sacramento CC 1996; Eastern Michigan 1998) placed second at 7-5. Ed Wright (St. Mary’s, Berkeley 2004; California 2008; unattached) was fourth at 7-1 ¾.

Shelise Williams ((Wilson HS, Long Beach 2007; Arkansas 2011; Nike) placed sixth in the 400 meters in 53.07.

Brenda Martinez (Rancho Cucamonga HS 2005; UC Riverside 2010)(New Balance) placed second in the 1500 meters in 4:15.11 (30.01, 62.74). Lauren Centrowitz (Broadneck HS, Arnold, MD 2004; Stanford 2009)(New Balance) was fifth in 4:20.35. Sara Hall (Montgomery HS, Santa Rosa 2001; Stanford 2005)(Asics) was sixth in 4:21.64.

Hall showed third in the 3000 meters in 9:21.87.

Trinity Wilson (St. Mary's College HS, Berkeley)(EOYDC) placed sixth in heat one of the 60 meter hurdles in 8.25 (x, =4HS). She is the national high school leader at 8.23(A) and at low-altitude 8.34. She is the only national high school leader from California.

Vashti Thomas (Academy of Art, San Francisco) was fourth in heat two in 8.21.

Chaunte Lowe (JW North HS, Riverside 2002; Georgia Tech 2008)(Nike) set an American Record of 6-7 1/2 in the high jump. She is 5-9/131. She jumped 10 1/2 inches over her height. The old AR of 6-7 was set by Tisha Waller in Atlanta on Feb. 28, 1998. Inika McPherson (unat) placed second at 6-1 1/2 PR. She is 5-5/115. Sharon Day (Asics) placed fifth at 5-11 1/2. She is 5-9/154.
