Stefanidi was born to athletes Georgios Stefanidis and Zoi Vareli, who competed internationally in the triple jump and sprints, respectively. Her younger sister, Georgia competes in pole vault. In 2015 she married Mitchell Krier, her future coach and also a pole vaulter. She lives permanently in United States.
