The 2010 USATF Southern California Association Cross Country Grand Prix series continues this Sunday, October 24, 2010 at the Will Rogers Park Open at Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, California.


The Will Rogers race is conducted on a course that features dirt trails and limited pavement within Will Rogers State Historic Park, featuring two challenging loops of the trail up to Inspiration Point.


The Women's Open and Masters 4.5 mile Cross Country race will start at 8:00 a.m., with the Men's Open and Masters 4.5 mile Cross Country race to follow at 8:45 a.m. Medals will be awarded to the Awards to Top 3 Open, Top 40-49 and Top 50+ competitors in each of the Men's and Women's races.


Email race director Mike Mahurin by Wednesday 5:00 pm with your name and current 2010 USATF member number to have your race tag ready on race day, and pay only $15 when you pick your tag up.


Or show up on race day with your USATF member number, and pay $20.


Will Rogers State Historic Park is located off the 405 Freeway at Sunset Blvd. Travel West on Sunset to Will Rogers State Park Road. There is a $12.00 fee per car to enter the park. Parking at the park is limited; please arrive early. Car pooling is encouraged.


The Will Rogers Open is the second race in the 2010 Cross Country Grand Prix

The Grand Prix provides a total of $2,500 in cash awards to Open and Masters runners. To be eligible for Grand Prix prize money, runners must compete in a minimum of two preliminary races, plus the final Association Championship race on 11/13 at Huntington Beach Central Park.


The USATF Southern California Association Cross Country Championships (November 13) is part of the USATF Open Club Cross Country Travel Grant Program. The winning Men's and Women's Open teams will earn a $500 travel stipend for travel to the 2010 USATF National Club Cross Country Championships in Charlotte, North Carolina.
