Jones, Oliver lead Team USA at Five Nations Match in Scotland

INDIANAPOLIS - Two-time Indoor Visa Championship Series winner Lolo Jones and 2008 Olympic Games bronze medalist David Oliver will lead a talented Team USA squad at the 2010 Five Nations Match on Saturday, January 30, in Glasgow, Scotland.

The Five Nations Match features one athlete in each event from the United States, Great Britain, Sweden, Germany and a Commonwealth Select team. It is a unique country vs. country format that features athletes from the different nations battling against each other to earn points towards their teams overall match total.

Last year the Commonwealth Select team finished first in the team competition with 60 points, followed by Great Britain & N.I. (2nd-57 points), Germany (3rd-51 points), Team USA (4th-46 points) and Sweden (5th-37 points).

Jones, who was victorious in the women's 100m hurdles at the 2008 Olympic Trials and ended that season ranked #1 in the world by Track & Field News, endured an injury-plagued season in 2009. A finalist at the 2007 World Outdoor Championships a three-time USA Indoor hurdles champ, Jonesled the U.S. squad at the 2009 Five Nations Match with her convincing win in the women's 60m hurdles in 7.95 seconds.

Another favorite to do well for Team USA in Glasgow will be men's hurdler David Oliver, who captured the U.S. Indoor and Olympic Trials crowns in 2008, in addition to the bronze medal at the Olympic Games later that summer in Beijing. Although he was unable to compete at last year's USA Outdoor Championships due to an injury, Oliver, the 2008 USA Indoor 60m hurdles champ, ended the 2009 season ranked #8 in the world by T&FN.
