NCAA Division II Rankings Central
Based only on marks that have been achieved during the early goings of this 2016 season, the Angelo State men and women moved up to No. 1 for their respective genders. Both Angelo teams were No. 2 a week ago.
Last week’s No. 1 UC San Diego men and women dropped to No. 5 and No. 3, respectively.
Texas A&M-Kingsville’s men moved up to No. 2, followed by No. 3 Cal State Stanislaus and three-time defending national champion No. 4 Saint Augustine’s.
Grand Valley State’s women debuted at No. 2 in the rankings, followed by No. 3 UCSD, No. 4 Johnson C. Smith and No. 5 Chico State.
Qualifying for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships, to be held May 26-28 in Bradenton, Florida, began February 18. These rankings do not serve as a projection for how those Championships could play out, but rather as an indicator of how well teams have performed up to this point in the season.
No preseason marks were included in these rankings, and more teams will be added as they open their outdoor campaigns in the coming weeks.
