Ed McCaffrey's brother Bill played basketball at Duke and Vanderbilt. But maybe Christian's blazing foot speed came from the other side of the family. His mother, the former Lisa Sime (pronounced "sim"), was one of the leading scorers on the Stanford soccer teams of the late 1980s. Her father, David Sime, was an Olympic sprinter who held world records in the 100 yards, 220 yards and 220-yard hurdles in the 1950s.
