BYU signs 13 new athletes

PROVO, Utah – Thirteen high school athletes have signed NCAA National Ietters of Intent to join the BYU women’s track and field team. They are: Anna Camp, Heidi Fuhriman, Kamryn Hart, Olivia Hoj, Ellyana Long, Brittney Lund, Elsja Mecham, McKenna Neyman, Whittni Orton, Lauren Rawlinson, Haley Rogers, Courtney Wayment and Lindsay Yetter.
Camp, a senior at Millard High School in Fillmore, Utah, has run 2:13.50 in the 800-meters and 5:07.36 in the 1600-meters. She is a seven-time Utah state champion.
Fuhriman, a senior at Monte Vista High School in Danville, California, is ranked No. 21 among all 800-meter runners in the class of 2016. She has run 2:09.78 in the event and she competed at the 2015 U.S. Junior Nationals in Eugene, Oregon.
Hart, a senior at Thunder Ridge High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, has run 55.52 in the 400-meters and 2:15.17 for the 800-meters.
Hoj, a senior at Skyline High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, was runner-up at the 2015 Utah state cross country championships. She has also run 2:18.65 for the 800-meters.
Long, a senior at The Woodlands High School in The Woodlands, Texas, is the No. 4 ranked high jumper in the class of 2016. She has cleared 5'9.5" in the event and 17’11.25” in the long jump.
Lund, a senior at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah, has run 5:00.97 in the 1600-meters and 10:55.47 for the 3200-meters. She won the 2015 Utah state title in the 1600-meters.
Mecham, a senior at Summit Academy High School in Bluffdale, Utah, is the No. 4 ranked 400-meter hurdler in the class of 2016. She won both the 300-meter and 100-meter hurdles at the 2015 Utah state meet. She was also fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the U.S. Junior Nationals in Eugene, Oregon.
Neyman, a senior at Timpview High School in Provo, Utah, has run 25.60 in the 200-meters and 56.53 in the 400-meters. She was the 2015 Utah state runner-up in the 400-meters.
Orton, a senior at Panguitch High School in Panguitch, Utah, won the 2015 Utah 1A state cross country title by an incredible two minutes and 36 seconds, finishing in 18:29.1. She also won the 2015 Utah 1A state 1600-meters title in a time of 5:21.36.
Rawlinson, a senior at Sky View High School in Smithfield, Utah, has run 24.94 for 200-meters and 55.76 for 400-meters. She won the 2015 Utah 4A state title in the 400-meters.
Rogers, a senior at Cherokee Trail High School in Aurora, Colorado, has run 24.80 in the 200-meters and took fifth at the 2015 Colorado 5A state meet. She has also run 12.31 in the 100-meters.
Wayment, a senior at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah, placed 17th at the Nike Cross Country National Championships and was the Utah state cross country champion. She has also run 4:59.14 in the mile and 10:40.24 in the 3200-meters.
Yetter, a senior at Ogden High School in Ogden, Utah, ran 14.76 in the 100-meter hurdles to win the 2015 Utah 4A state title. She also cleared 5’6” in the high jump to win the 2015 Utah 4A state championship. She has also thrown 127'4.25" in the javelin and jumped 17'5.75" in the long jump.
Each of the athletes is eligible to compete for the Cougars beginning in the 2016-17 season.
