ADP Trio To Compete In Oakley New York Mini 10-K, Maiyo At Portland Track Fest, & Dey At AMC High Performance 800m


(Colorado Springs, CO) - Mattie Suver, Brianne Nelson and Wendy Thomas, who all represent adidas/BRC, will compete in the 2013 Oakley New York Mini 10k in Manhattan, NY, on Saturday morning. The New York Mini 10k is the world's original road race for women and features numerous Olympians and world class runners, taking participants on a challenging tour of Central Park.


Across the country that same evening in Portland, OR, Augustus Maiyo (US Army/WCAP) will look to improve his best mark in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Portland Track Festival, while Dey Dey, who recently broke 4-minutes for the mile, will look for a US national championships qualifying mark in the 800-meters at the American Milers Club High Performance Series in Indianapolis, Indiana.


Back in Colorado Springs on Sunday, Leonard Korir (Nike), and Brandon Birdsong, Matt Levassiur and Christie Foster all of adidas/BRC, along with Tristan Mannix, will compete in the Garden of the Gods 10-Miler.

Simmons To Lecture At MIdwest Distance Running Coaching Clinic In July

(Colorado Springs, CO) - Coach Scott Simmons will speak at the Midwest Distance Running Coaching Summit hosted by Washington University in St. Louis, MO, on July 20. Simmons, along with a host of physicians, a dietician and successful high school coaches, will offer a presentation entitled "Championship Season Training Design." RRCA's RunPro Camp Soliciting Post-Collegiate Distance Runners

(Colorado Springs, CO) - The Road Runners Club of American (RRCA) has adopted and will now be hosting the 2013 RunPro Camp, which was initiated to assist promising American distance runners in making the transition from collegiate to professional running. Interested post-collegiate distance runners can still apply for camp funding by submitting an online application at www.RunPro.com. For selected athletes, the RRCA will provide both travel and housing expenses.


This year's camp, to be held July 19-21 in Arlington, VA, will feature several post collegian training center coaches and directors, as well as other professionals in the sport including elite athletes, athlete representatives, and others who will present on shoe sponsor contracts, taxes and finances, anti-doping, and working with the media. ADP director Scott Simmons will provide an overview of professional distance running and athlete expectations.
