Cal Tries to Secure NCAA Berths at West Regionals
Bears Have Run Well at Regional Meet in Recent Past

Cross Country: Had a breakthrough campaign last fall with top-20 finishes at the Pac-10 and NCAA regional meets to help Cal qualify for NCAA nationals ... led the Bears with a ninth-place showing at the Bronco Invitational ... came back two weeks later to finish 19th at the Pac-10 Championships ... earned all-region notice after taking 18th at the NCAA West Regional, fourth among Bear runners ... was 191st at NCAA nationals ... voted second-team Pac-10 All-Academic for the second straight year ... as a sophomore, saw action in four races, including an eighth-place finish at the USF Invitational ... also 18th at the Stanford Invitational, which was second among Cal runners ... as a freshman in '08, competed at the Bronco Invitational (23rd) and Pac-10 Championships (56th). Track: Posted the Bears' leading times in the outdoor 5000 meters (14:09.40) and indoor 5000 (14:05.45, 10th at MPSF Championships) last year ... ran a PR 8:23.10 in the 3000 at Stanford outdoors ... 23rd in the 5000 at the Pac-10 Championships ... did not compete in 2010 and redshirted in '09.
