Keith Conning: Ralph Ligons (Pittsburg), a junior, won the 1969 North Coast Section 220 yard dash in 21.9.

Ligons placed eighth in the 1969 State Meet 100 yard dash in 10.1.

Ligons (Sacramento State) placed fifth in heat 1 of the 1972 U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon in 10.3 (+3.7w). The first five in each heat plus 1 fast loser qualified for the quarter-finals. He placed sixth in quarter-final 1 in 10.3 (+3.6w). The first 4 qualified for the semifinals.
