Lewy Boulet named Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Magdalena Lewy Boulet has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after becoming the fourth-fastest American ever in the women's marathon Sunday at the Rotterdam Marathon in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

A 2008 Olympian, Lewy Boulet finished second in the women's race at the Rotterdam Marathon, crossing the line in a personal best 2:26:22. Lewy Boulet's time marks her as the fourth-fastest American woman of all time, behind only Deena Kastor, Joan Benoit Samuelson and Kara Goucher.



Now in its ninth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
