Jackson named Athlete of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS - Bershawn Jackson has been named USA Track & Field's Athlete of the Week after winning the men's 400m hurdles Saturday at the 2010 International Friendship & Freedom Games at North Carolina A&T's Irwin Belk Track in Greensboro, N.C.



The 2008 Olympic bronze medalist and a two-time World Outdoor medalist, Jackson won the men's 400-meter hurdles in a meet record, world leading 48.36. Jackson will next compete on Team USA's 4x400m relay at USA vs. The World at the Penn Relays this weekend.


Now in its ninth year, USATF's Athlete of the Week program is designed to recognize outstanding performers at all levels of the sport. USATF names a new honoree each week and features the athlete on the USATF website. Selections are based on top performances and results from the previous week.
