THIS YEAR: Senior Kai Kelley is one of USC's all-time top 10 high hurdlers and is challenging the top 10 list for the 400m intermediate hurdles.

2007: Had a great junior season, earning All-American honors. Won both the 110m HH (14.26) and the 400m IH (51.51) at the Pepsi Invitational in Oregon on April 7. Had an exciting USC-UCLA Dual Meet on April 28, placing second in the 110m HH with a time of 13.76 and then apparently winning the 400m IH with an amazing time of 50.76...after the race he was disqualified for his leg allegedly going around a couple of the race's early hurdles...finished in style, though, running the first leg for USC's winning 4x400m team which clinched the victory with a time of 3:07.80. Placed third in both the 110m HH (13.88) and the 400m IH (with a new PR of 50.64) at the Pac-10 Championships at Stanford from May 12-13. Won the NCAA West Regional 110m HH title at Oregon on May 26 with a time of 13.63. Came in seventh in the 110m HH (13.86) at the NCAA Championships in Sacramento on June 8. Set a new PR in the event in the semi-finals on June 7 with a time of 13.59, which ranks eighth all-time at USC. After the season competed in the 110m HH at the USA Outdoor T&F Championships in Indianapolis.

2006: Was a three-time winner at the UCLA-USC Dual Meet on April 29, winning the 110m HH in 13.91, the 400m IH in 51.30 and as part of USC's 4x400m relay team...Placed third in the 400m IH with a season-best time of 51.07 at the Pac-10s on May 14...Also placed fourth in the 110 HH with a time of 14.02...Ran the first leg for the Trojans' 4x400m relay team which placed second with a time of 3:05.76 at the NCAA West Regional...Had a season-best 110m HH race at the regionals with a time of 13.82 on May 27...Ran a 51.80 in the prelims of the 400m IH, but did not qualify for the finals...Was an NCAA qualifier in the 110 HH and ran a 14.20 in the quarter-finals, but missed by .01 of advancing to the semi-finals... Also ran the first leg for USC's 4x400m relay team which placed fourth, with a time of 3:03.08, the fifth-fastest time in school history

2005: He finished fifth at the Pac-10s with a time of 14.13 in the 110m HH and seventh in the 400m IH with a then personal best of 52.21...Placed sixth in the 100m HH at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 14.28...ran the first leg for the 4x400m relay team that placed fifth at the NCAA West Regional with a time of 3:11.52...Ran a season best 13.99 in the 110m HH at the NCAAs in the prelims.

HIGH SCHOOL: Kelley prepped at Dorsey High in Los Angeles, where he was the 2003 and 2004 City Champion in the 110m HH and 300m IH...He was also an All-American as a member of Dorsey's 1600m relay squad that ran a nation-leading 3:11.24 at one point his senior season... He was also a member of the Junior Olympic team and was named second-team All-State...Had bests of 13.8 in the short hurdles, 37.1 in the 300 IH and 52.00 in the 400m IH.

PERSONAL: Kai was born on Nov. 8, 1986 in Lynwood, Calif...His favorite actor is Denzel Washington...He is a Sociology major at USC.
