Conor McCullough (SR/Chaminade, West Hills, CA) set a new Senior Class and National U.S. High School, and National Junior 16# hammer throw record with his throw 66.65m (218’08”) on his third throw at the 16# Open Senior Hammer Throw Meet at the Olympic Training Center, Chula vista, CA. On his fifth throw he bettered his new record with a throw of 66.92m (219’07”).

McCullough finished second to Nick Welihozkiy who threw 70.68m (231’11”).

McCullough’s third throw of 66.65m broke Jacob Freeman’s above three records of 65.89m (216’02”) set at the 105th Penn Relay Carnival on April 24, 1999.
