The IAAF has published the ranking lists for individual events to be conducted at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, covering the applicable qualifying periods for each event.
The IAAF today advised those Member Federations whose athletes qualified for ranking places in those events where at this stage the target number set for Games participation had not been reached according to the number of qualified athletes and those entered according to the universality provisions.
The affected events were:
Men: 1500m, 3000m steeplechase, hammer throw
Women: Heptathlon
Those Member Federations with qualified relay teams have been formally notified and asked to confirm their intention to participate.
