New PR For Junior Sets Bar For Dual Competition Day
By Cal Athletics on Fri, February 12, 2016
BERKELEY --- Junior Khalfani Muhammad’s victory in the 200 meters was the highlight of a busy day for the California track & field programs as the Golden Bears competed at both the Husky Indoor Classic in Seattle and the Don Kirby Elite Indoor Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M. on Friday
Muhammad – a two-sport student-athlete (football) - took first place at Washington’s meet with a time of 21.54, besting his own mark from last season at the Husky Classic (21.74) and establishing a new indoor PR in the process.
Senior Isaac Dan joined Muhammad as Bears with top-five finishes in Seattle with his fifth place Weight Throw of 61-8.25.
In Albuquerque, junior Kathryn Rucker led the way for Cal with a seventh place High Jump of 5-6.50, matching 2015’s indoor best and PR from sophomore Asia Chesley (who jumped 5-4.50 this time around).
Both meets will conclude tomorrow with Live Results links available below:
