AS A JUNIOR IN 2008: Took part in three events for the Tritons… Just missed finishing among the squad’s top five in the season opener, placing 15th overall… Registered a final time of 16:25.2 on her home course in that meet… Was one of six UCSD runners to finish in the top 25 at the CCAA Championships in San Bernardino, claiming 24th place with a time of 24:40.9.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2007:
Made appearances in three meets during the season… Clocked in at 17:06.5 in the UCSD-Point Loma Nazarene dual meet, good enough for 23rd place overall… Finished 74th overall and 14th on the team with a mark of 20:18.30 at the UC Irvine Invitational… Crossed the finish line at the Triton Classic with a time of 25:15.4, placing 60th.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2006:
Raced in three events for the Tritons during the season… Finished 53rd overall with a time of 20:03.8 during first race of collegiate career at the UC Irvine Invitational… Completed the Roy Griak Invitational in a time of 27:04.5, a 203rd place finish in the event… Crossed the finish line in a season-best 43rd overall with a time of 24:57.6 during the Triton Classic.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Royal High School in Simi Valley, Calif... Helped team to the league championships and CIF state meet as a senior... Was a first team all-league and second team all-country selection… Had personal bests of 18:52 in the three mile, 5:17 in the 1600m, 2:27 in the 800m, and 12:01 in the 3200m.

PERSONAL: Born February 27, 1988... Parents are John and Luanne Schaper... Has two brothers named William and James...
Other than running, her hobbies include reading, food, and playing with her guinea pig… Last of the Mohicans, Pocahontas, and Dances With Wolves are a few of her favorite films… Roots for the Padres and Chargers… Kara Groucher is one of her heros… Is a Communications major and Psychology minor in Sixth College… Hopes to one day work in sports advertising. .
