Johnson Named Northeast Regional Women’s Coach of the Year

NEW ORLEANS – Boston University director of track & field Robyne Johnson was named Northeast Regional Women’s Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the organization announced on Friday.
Last week, Johnson led the women’s track & field team to its second Patriot League indoor title in three years. Her team broke five league records in the process and took home both the Track Athlete of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. After the meet, Johnson was named Patriot League Women’s Coach of the Year.
Now in her 11th season, the Terriers have thrived under Johnson's guidance, claiming a total of nine conference championships in men’s and women’s track & field and five conference titles in cross country.
In July, 2015, Johnson was named an assistant coach of the 2016 USA Track & Field Olympic Team that will compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
