4x1 Mile Relay

circa 1963 Trafalgar Park (Nelson, NZ) the 4 x 1 mile relay world record attempt and showdown between the former world record holders in the event (NZ National Team) and the Men of Oregon who broke the black clad silver fern wearers record the previous spring in Fresno, CA of all places (1962 West Coast Relays)...whil the Kiwis took the title on their home turf on that January day, the record remained with the Yanks from Tracktown USA...shown here is Keith Forman who Snell blew by as though he were standing still at the end of the final back straight...this was the trip where Bowerman learned of "jogging" which he promptly packed in his luggage and brought back with him to the United States...solid!
