Air Force swept the men’s weekly Mountain West awards on Jan. 19, as Jamiel Trimble was named the Track Athlete of the Week and John Reynolds was named the Field Athlete of the Week. The awards, which covered two week’s worth of competitions (Jan. 4-16), marked the first career honor for Reynolds and the second for Trimble. TRIMBLE MAKES HISTORY AT HOLIDAY INN INVITATIONAL
Jamiel Trimble became the first Falcon in 12 years to break the eight-second barriers in the 60-meter hurdles at the Holiday Inn Invitational on Jan. 16, as he clocked a time of 7.90 to finish second – just 0.006 seconds behind the event winner. With his time, Trimble moved into fifth on the program’s all-time list and equaled a Sophomore Class Record that was initially set in 1986. WINNER, WINNER...
The men claimed both vertical jumping titles at Nebraska on Jan. 16. Taylor Smith matched his season-high of 7’0½” to claim the high jump title for the third consecutive meet, while Dylan Bell used a clearance of 17’3” to successfully defend his Holiday Inn Invitational title in the pole vault.
