James Franklin Marchbanks (March 13, 1951--May 4, 2015)

MARCHBANKS, Pastor James Franklin 64, entered into eternal life on May 4, 2015 at home with his family. He is survived by his wife, Deborah, seven children, four godchildren, 11 grandchildren, eight siblings, and a host of nieces and nephews. James was born March 13, 1951, in Tulare, CA to Ollie and Dollie Marchbanks, one of seventeen children. The Marchbanks moved to Santa Rosa in 1968, where he met his devoted wife of more than 41 years. He graduated from SRHS in 1970. After the passing of Elder Robert Hall, Sr. in 1988, Elder James Marchbanks became pastor of Fulton Pentecostal Community Church, where James remained until his own passing. James (aka Frankie) was a man of many titles. He was and still is: husband, dad, brother, uncle, cousin, papa, Pastor, Superintendent, coach, master mechanic, counselor, neighbor, athlete, friend, and most important, man of God. James was no ordinary man: he broke track records and was still winning track medals at age 63. His spirit will live on in the memories of those who loved him. "We will miss you, always. Thank you for being a part of our lives and memories." A viewing will be held, Thursday May 14th 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Eggen & Lance Chapel. Family and friends are invited to the official service Friday, May 15th at 12:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church, 1620 Sonoma Ave, Santa Rosa, CA. Followed by burial at Santa Rosa Mortuary. A special Track Tribute and Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, May 17th, 3:00 - 5:00 at the SRJC Track.
