NAPA, Calif. (March 1, 2015) - Two-time Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon winners Chris Mocko and Devon Yanko ascended the winners platform yet again at the 37th
Kaiser Permanente Napa Valley Marathon.

Mocko, 28, of Folsom, Calif., who previously won the race in 2011 and 2012, emerged victorious in the men's race with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes, and 6 seconds. Yanko, 32, of San Anselmo, Calif. dominated the women's field after previously emerging victorious at the Napa Valley Marathon (NVM) in 2007 and 2012. The winners headed a sold-out field of 3,000 entrants who were greeted by blue skies, little wind, and ideal temperatures in the low 40s F rising to around 60 degrees F by the 6-hour finish cut-off time.

In the men's race, a threesome composed of Mocko, 2013 NVM men's champion Kevin Pool (Folsom, Calif.), and
Ron Young (Reno, Nev.) navigated the early miles of the rolling, point-to-point 26.2 mile course from Calistoga to Napa together, hitting the 6-mile split in 33:19. Young soon fell off the pace to an eventual seventh place finish as Mocko and Pool proceeded in lockstep, hitting halfway 13.1 miles) in 1:12:25 and 18 miles in 1:38:55.

MIAMI BEACH -- There are vacations to South Beach and then there is the vacation that newly weds Ian and Amanda Nurse experienced as they stole away for a long weekend to escape the snow and cold in Boston. Sunday, they became the first couple to win the 7th  Michelob ULTRA Miami Beach 13.1 Marathon, produced and presented by Life Time - The Healthy Way of Life Company.

After training indoors on a treadmill, the Nurses found the race-time 74 degree temperature conducive to break-out winning performances as Ian Nurse (1:14:40) held off Miami's
Bryan Sharkey (1:14:52) as the overall winner in Sunday's race, and Amanda Nurse won the women's title (1:24:28).

"I'm on vacation with my wife to get away from the cold," said Nurse, 37, a chiropractor who has been married for four months. "We've had a pretty brutal winter up north."

With sunrise still 30 minutes away, the fast, flat and highly scenic 13.1 race began in front of Miami Beach's Carlyle Hotel on Ocean Drive. Heading north and passing by some of Miami Beach's most magnificent residences, runners made their way over the Julia Tuttle Causeway to the Wynwood Art District and the Miami MidTown area.

CHICAGO - The Bank of America Chicago Marathon announced that runners can enter the lottery for the 2015 event on Tuesday, March 10. Runners who qualify for a guaranteed entry will also be able to register at this time. The lottery system, introduced last year, resulted in a record number of finishers - 40,659 - at the 2014 Chicago Marathon. The 38th annual Chicago Marathon will take place on Sunday, October 11 in Grant Park.
Runners can enter the lottery or register with a guaranteed entry at any time between Tuesday, March 10 at noon (U.S. Central Time) and Tuesday, April 21 at noon (U.S. Central Time) at chicagomarathon.com.
"In 2014, we implemented a new registration process that brought together a mix of participants from near and far and on every level of the marathon spectrum, from first-timers to competitive athletes," said Bank of America Chicago Marathon Race Director Carey Pinkowski. "The training and excitement that those runners brought to the race resulted in the largest finisher field in the history of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. We anticipate that this year's lottery will keep that momentum and spirit alive."
