Celebrate National Running Day Tomorrow!
Wednesday, June 4, is National Running Day and Running USA will celebrate and promote the 6th edition with other running organizations such as USATF, New York Road Runners, Competitor Group, Atlanta Track Club, B.A.A. and more. We encourage all of our Members to celebrate National Running Day and to share your stories with us on Twitter @runningusa. Find more NRD 2014 information including logos and resources HERE.
Running USA Race Calendar
Running USA members may include their October 2014-December 2015 event dates in our annual calendar which is now in production. There will be 100,000 copies distributed at race expos and running stores. Please submit your race dates via our online member portal, using your user name and password: Click here to login.

Member Profile: RAM Racing
RAM Racing is the nation's premiere race production company, with a mission to create and execute race parties that elicit an unforgettable and unimaginable emotional experience from start to finish. An event company for more than ten years and best known for its Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Race Series, the RAM Racing brand has become synonymous with top of the line runner goodie bags and a family-friendly race environment.
RAM's Hot Chocolate 15k/5 Race Series is a national series with 14 cities planned for this year. Participants not only receive the famous goodie bag, but are also given a chocolate filled mug following the race, with delicious
treats to dip, and of course, a steaming cup of hot chocolate. The official charity partner of the Hot Chocolate 15/5k Race Series is the Ronald McDonald House Charities, a program that provides a "home-away-from-home" for families and children facing a serious medical issue.
Local to Chicago, RAM Racing also produces a Chicagoland series of races including a 5 mile race, half marathon, triathlon and a 5k that is followed by a rock music festival in the park.

Twin Cities In Motion Promotes National Running Day
When National Running Day celebrates its sixth edition on Wednesday, June 4, Twin Cities In Motion will again lead National Running Day activities in the area. Twin Cities In Motion is asking runners to download a National Running Day bib and to personalize it with their own personal "I Run..." statement. Runners are also encouraged to form group runs using Meetup.com. They can also pledge their National Running Day miles to charity and, just by running, donate to a national non-profit by visiting runningday.org/charity. TCM encourages runners to tweet pictures to @tcmarathon using the hashtag, #RunningDay!
VRD Announces Partnership
Join the Vail Recreation District and Vail Athletic Club/Vail Vitality Center's free summer running club. The Vail Running Club will meet weekly at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays, beginning June 5, and at 8 a.m. on Saturdays, beginning June 14, in Vail Village.
Little Rock Marathon Announces Partnership
The Little Rock Marathon announced it will partner with Go! Running and Rock City Running to host National Running Day on June 4, at 6:00 a.m. in Murray Park (Pavilion Entrance).
Army Ten-Miler Announces Sell Out
A new record was set when the Army Ten-Miler (ATM) 2014 event sold out all 23,500 general registration spots in approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes. The event sold out in 9 ½ hours in 2013. Registration for the event took place via Army Ten-Miler's online race registration partner Race IT. The 2014 Army Ten Miler will be held on October 12.
Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon 75% Full
Registration for the 2014 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon is approaching completion with 75% of the 12,200 runner field already registered for the event. Twin Cities In Motion officials expect the 33rd annual event, scheduled for October 5, to fill before the end of June.
Crim Youth Summer Reading Clubs Receives Grant
Thanks to the generous donations of Genesee County residents, the Crim Fitness Foundation received $20,000 through Sports Matter, an online fundraising campaign hosted by Dick's Sporting Goods. The Crim Fitness Foundation raised $10,000 through community donations, resulting in a $10,000 matching grant from Dick's Sporting Goods. The funds will be used to offset the cost of the CrimFit Summer Running Clubs for youth throughout Genesee County, including several in Flint.
Runners Ready for Raucous Run Amuck Mud Run
The favorite kick off to summer time adventure, Run Amuck, the mud and obstacle run offering plenty of messy fun for ages eight and above, returns to Marine Corps Base Quantico on June 14.
Eugene Marathon Announces Event Plans
The Eugene Marathon has teamed-up with TrackTown USA to organize a High-Performance Track Meet at Hayward Field on the evening of the traditional pre-race pasta dinner. The one-hour meet will include a world-record attempt in the 4x800 relay, headlined by a team from Oregon Track Club Elite. The Eugene Marathon will be held July 27.
ChronoTrack Supports Tufts Health Plan 10K
ChronoTrack announced that the Tufts Health Plan 10K for Women will again run on ChronoTrack and the ChronoTrack Live next generation race platform. The event is supported end-to-end, from registration through to results. This also includes the delivery of real-time race services for athletes like Facebook updates, as well as mobile and on-site results.
BMO Vancouver Marathon Raises Funds
Runners participating in the May 4, 2014, BMO Vancouver Marathon have helped raise over $370,000 that will go towards building homes, cancer research, keeping children safe, protecting endangered species and a variety of other causes.
Star Wars™ Half Marathon Weekend Announced
Joining forces with one of Hollywood's most iconic brands, runDisney is creating another transportive race weekend - the Star Wars Half Marathon Weekend presented by Sierra Nevada Corporation at Disneyland Resort. The intergalactic journey begins January 15, and runs through January 18, 2015.
TCM's Sandy Unger Earns Award
Twin Cities In Motion's Sandy Unger was recently presented with the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition's Community Leadership award for her work leading TCM's youth outreach programs: the Medtronic TC Kids Marathon Program, its culminating TC Kids running events, and the Wise Kids In Motion afterschool physical activity and nutrition program.

A record number of Americans participated in at least one outdoor activity in 2013 with nearly 50 percent of all Americans ages six and older enjoying the outdoors. Read more HERE.

Ten-time U.S. National Champion Joseph Gray will be at the initial Vail Running Club meeting on June 5, in Vail, Colorado, to meet and run with the group.
Timex announced that Josh Cox and Desi (Davila) Linden will join the brand's roster of athlete ambassadors.
Dave McGillivray was given the Enduring Spirit Award by the Back on My Feet organization at the group's annual breakfast in Boston on May 23.
