Running USA Race Director Workshop in Austin, TX
Running USA will host a one-day Race Director Workshop in Austin, TX, on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at the Austin Hilton which is the host hotel for The Running Event. The race director workshop is geared specifically towards small to mid-sized events. This is a great way to learn about Running USA and how membership can grow your business while also gaining valuable best-practices knowledge from industry experts. The preliminary agenda is available HERE. Attendance is limited in order to maintain a hands-on, interactive approach. Registration is OPEN
Attendees of the Race Director Workshop will also have the opportunity to attend The Running Event Expo.
Running USA Inaugural Online Auction
Running USA's first online auction, which will replace the "live" auction that is typically conducted at the annual conference, will be held November 1, 2013. We are accepting donations now. Please contact Araceli Dagdagan to donate an item for the auction.

Member Profile: Santa to the Sea Half Marathon
The Santa to the Sea Half Marathon and 5K is based in the coastal community of Oxnard, CA, just 40 minutes north of Los Angeles. Join us for our next race Dec. 8! Our course starts at the legendary Santa Claus statue along the 101 freeway just outside of Oxnard and winds through the fragrant strawberry fields and historic areas of downtown Oxnard, decorated for the holidays, to the beach and Channel Islands Harbor.
Our mission is to provide all participants with a fun, healthy and safe running experience while showcasing our local community as an ideal running locale.
Santa to the Sea is a nonprofit event that helps collect Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in Ventura County and provides scholarships to local high-school seniors, as well as adults continuing their education. Using proceeds from the race, the organization gave away thousands of gifts and awarded 50 deserving students a $500 scholarship for their Fall 2013 semester at Oxnard College.

Marine Corps Marathon Awards Registration Contract and Announces App
Race IT and the Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) announced a multi-year agreement in which Race IT will provide registration services to facilitate online entries for the MCM, and for the MCM Event Series. The MCM also unveiled a new MCM app, "Marine Corps Marathon," available for both iPhone and Android platforms. The MCM app aggregates essential MCM weekend information.
ING New York City Marathon on Television
On November 3, the ING New York City Marathon will be presented live on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes+ from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. EST. Locally, New Yorkers can watch the race on ABC7 or 7online.com from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or via WatchABC on mobile devices. Pre-race features from the start at Fort Wadsworth will broadcast live at 7:00 a.m. on ABC7, 7online.com and WatchABC. Additionally, a national highlights show will air from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on local ABC affiliates. International viewers can watch the broadcast via a live digital stream from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST on 7online.com.
ACTIVE Network Powers Triathlon
The ACTIVE Network, Inc., supported more than 2,000 athletes who competed at the GoPro® IRONMAN® World Championship on October 12, and earlier this year, IRONMAN expanded its relationship with ACTIVE Network, as the Official Registration Partner and Official Global Sponsor of IRONMAN through 2015.
