Dey Crushes Bristol Mile Field By Six Seconds With CO Soil Record of 3:53.7

(Colorado Springs, CO) - Dey Dey continued his stellar debut professional season with a dominating win at the Bristol Mile in Colorado Springs on Sunday. Never looking back, Dey led wire to wire in the inaugural road mile down Cheyenne Avenue, opening up a commanding lead that would never be challenged. Dey crossed the finish line in 3:53.7, nearly seven seconds up on runner-up, Rory Fraser, who posted a solid time of 4:00.6. A little more than a month ago at the St. Vrain Mile in Longmont, CO, Fraser had bested Dey by over two seconds, setting a new Colorado soil mile record of 4:03.99, which Dey's Bristol performance now eclipses.

USATF Foundation Grant To Support Elliott's Pursuit of World Championships Standard

(Colorado Springs, CO) - The USA Track & Field Foundation has awarded a USA Distance Project grant to assist ADP athlete Matt Elliott (Brooks) in his pursuit of the IAAF World Championships qualifying standard for the 1500-meters. Elliot was a surprise 4th-place at last week's USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships and, by virtue of his finish, earned the right to pursue the World A standard of 3:35.00 and B standard of 3:37.00.

The USATF Foundation's USA Distance Project seeks to support elite training centers like the American Distance Project through contributions from both individual and corporate donors, with the current grant being largely funded by Twin Cities In Motion, the Minneapolis-St. Paul non-profit that stages the Medtronics Twin Cities Marathon among many other events and programs focused on promoting a healthy lifestyle through running.

Only the top four finishers from the US track championships are able to pursue qualifying marks, with champion Matt Centrowitz guaranteed a spot on Team USA with his win and B mark. None of the next three finishers, including Elliott, currently have either an A or B mark, and with the US only able to take a maximum of three, three of the top four finishers must earn at least two As and one B in order to compete.

After a altitude training camp in Colorado Springs partially funded by the USA Distance Proeject grant, Elliot will compete in the KBC-Huesden meet in Belgium on July 13 and the Bottrop Gala in Germany on July 19.

Aside from the grant, the non-profit American Distance Project and Elliott himself, will be providing funding for the camp and the international travel. You can join other individual supporters of the ADP by making a donation at http://www.americandistanceproject.com/Index/Donate.html
