Canada, Bill Collins of Houston was one event away from pulling off a rare triple-triple: sweeping the 60-200-400 in the same age group in three consecutive WMA world meets. On the unbanked 200-meter oval at the Tournament Capital Centre, Collins beat Volodymyr Bagrin of Ukraine, 24.32 to 25.97 as George Haywood of Washington, D.C., took bronze in 26.43.
