San Jose State men and women's cross country both begin their seasons with events on Saturday, September 5.

The women will have two teams representing the Spartans on this day. One, being at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic in Memphis Tennessee, and the other in San Francisco, California for the USF Invitational.

The Twilight Classic event will be held at the Mike Ross Soccer Complex, where in 2008 the women's team finished fifth in a field of 36 with a score of 165.

Golden Gate Park in San Francisco will play host to the USF Invitational and it's nine team field. In 2008 the San Jose State women finished fifth out of the nine competing schools at the event.

The men's cross country team will also be heading to Memphis for the Twilight Classic, where they placed eighth out of 29 in 2008. Senior David Haefele returns to the Classic after being the men's top finisher at the event last year, placing 30th.
