KUPHALDT, Richard R.
Born to William and Hazel Kuphaldt in Bingham Canyon, Utah, on September 18, 1930, passed away in Roseville, Calif., on July 10, 2009. Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, JoAnn. Beloved children June Kuphaldt, Rita Burnop, James Kuphaldt, Patricia Jones, Joseph Kuphaldt, Harold Kuphaldt, Kenneth Kuphaldt, Mary D'Amour, Ann Quevedo and William Kuphaldt, 26 cherished grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Louise Oliva, and brother William Kuphaldt. Richard worked for the State of California, Department of Water Resources for more than 25 years. He earned a Bachelor's degree in engineering from U.C. Berkley and a Masters in public administration from C.S.U. Sacramento. He was a longtime member of Divine Savior Parish, where he was involved as a lay Salvatorian and with the Knights of Columbus. Richard enjoyed fishing, camping and had a reputation as a man who could fix anything, but his true passion was for his family. He will be missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Divine Savior Catholic Church, 9079 Greenback Lane, Orangevale, on Friday, July 17, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer's Association in Richard's name would be greatly appreciated.
