"Official Charlie Peters, 66, of Santa Clara was struck in the head by a discus during the men's competition. The 4.41-pound platter hit Peters on the left side of his head and caused heavy bleeding, but he was able to walk with assistance to an ambulance for a short ride to Stanford Hospital."
