BOSTON - Boston, host to the greatest road race in the world, is a runner's town. Un til now, there's been no place to buy your gear, learn from elite athletes, lace up for a run and clean up afterwards. Today adidas
and the Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.), organizer of the Boston Marathon, announce the launch of the   Boston Marathon® RunBase
in partnership with Marathon Sports, Inc. The adidas exclusive community experience will open mid-April just steps from the finish line. The initiative is the first of its kind in the U.S. and will be the center of running in Boston, located at the 26-mile mark of the legendary course on Boylston Street.
Set in a unique state-of-the-art hub for runners, Boston Marathon® RunBase celebrates the world's oldest annual marathon 52 weeks a year with inspirational displays curated by the B.A.A. and drawn from the organization's archives. Boston Marathon® RunBase will be complete with a changing room with lockers, as runners will use the facility as a base for informal runs.  Showers also will be available.

ATLANTA ( April 1, 2015) - Expanding on its longstanding commitment to grassroots running, Atlanta Track Club announced that it will launch a new cross country event this fall. The 2015 Wingfoot XC Classic will be held on Saturday, September 26 at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville, Georgia.

The inaugural Wingfoot XC Classic will feature varying race distances up to a 5K on surfaces such as grass, dirt and gravel. The course will be a unique single loop with traditional European cross country elements such as hay bales or logs. The event is open to middle school and high school cross country teams as well as the general public.

"Our commitment to high school running dates back to 1964 and Atlanta Track Club's beginnings," said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club's executive director. "The Wingfoot XC Classic will not only provide a fun, friendly competition between middle and high school athletes, but also introduce members of our community to a type of running they may have never experienced."

QUANTICO, Va. - While thousands of entries for the 40th
Marine Corps Marathon (MCM) sold this month through public lottery registration, runners who were not selected through that process still can register to run the 40th MCM by lending a hand to vital concerns.
With more than 70 MCM
Charity Partners participating in
"The People's Marathon," runners can choose to support a meaningful cause while registering to run the Marathon through any one of their programs.
Annually, the MCM partners with charitable organizations that coordinate teams of runners and hand cycle or wheelchair participants, to complete the 26.2 mile marathon course starting Arlington, Va. and traveling throughout the nation's capital. Each charity coordinates running programs specific for their organization. All money raised during the MCM goes directly to each charity.
